Aim for the Top! GunBuster

The latest and greatest of Japanese Animation. Found something new, or perhaps old and arcane... if it has to do with anime, it goes right here.

The trailer very nearly brought a tear to my eye.

Best goddamned animé ever.

I still don't see what you like about this so much. (I've watched it some time ago.)

I suspect this may be because you have no soul.

Ok, granted, the first part was great, but as soon as the actual gunbuster came into play, it became another mecha story.

Oh, and, of course I have no soul. What a stupid notion. But then, neither do you... :)

I'll guess I'll try. came from the creator of NGE so it can't be that bad. I would mind trying it out

i must agree that gunbuster is one of the greatest anime of all time.
it's simply stunning..

and after watching diebuster (gunbuster 2), i must say that the 2 OVAs as a whole are probably my favoutite anime ever.
the reason for that must be the ending of diebuster. it's simply amazing, the best ending ever.. something beautiful.
oh, and to fully understand the ending of diebuster, you simply must watch gunbuster first. that will make the experience complete, and the majority of you will be stunned... but then again, that's what i think. but i can not imagine a person who wouldn't like gunbuster+diebuster after seeing the ending....
yes, it's THAT good.

I watched the first episode of diebuster, but it didn't really catch my attention. However, if you guys like it so much, I guess I'll give it another go.

The original Gunbuster was the first complete set of anime I owned and saw completed. That was 13 years ago. Clamshells! 35 bucks a pop! So, Gunbuster is pretty important to me. I want nothing to do with the crap that has come years later. Only cheapens the goodness.
