My vote goes to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Fantastic soundtrack.

Yes, he is, and For a Few Dollars More wasn't too bad either. In fact, I enjoyed it more than The Good, The Bad. I'll never forget the final scene with the musical pocket watch.Femto wrote:My vote goes to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Fantastic soundtrack. Ennio Morricone is a genius.
That said, my vote goes to Rocky (the first one). Favorite film, favorite soundtrack.

Ennio bores me.
There are too many soundtracks to select one. I really enjoyed how music was implemented into the scenes of Oldboy. Tarantino's choices are usually diverse and cool aswell.

Ennio Morricone is uber genius !
All his spaggetti westerns has awesome music. Sometimes simple but soo effective.
Me and Shaka was watching For a few dollars more in friday and were talking about how great the music was as usuall in those movies.
Kill Bill has good soundtrack too but no one comes near Ennio Morricone!!!!!

Conan the Barbarian OST. Basil Polidorus, or something like that...
Gladiator, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings, although a bit default, are great too...

The Ecstasy of Gold, man.
Excellent tune.
Of course, a huge part of it is probably how well the soundtrack is ingrated into the movie.

On top of my head, The Big Blue. I never heard the full soundtrack of The Good..., on ly the main theme.
Re: Best movie sountrack?
TGTBTU is one of my favorite movies, got it on DVD even though it is mono audio track. Music for it is outstanding, and there was a great piece about how he made the music, what got him involved int he projects and more non NPR a few years ago. It must be good if I remember it from that long ago.Albator wrote:On top of my head, The Big Blue. I never heard the full soundtrack of The Good..., on ly the main theme.

Chariots of Fire comes to mind... and now the countless parodies that followed it.Femto wrote:Of course, a huge part of it is probably how well the soundtrack is ingrated into the movie.

Ennio Morricone's - in the order of preference: Once Upon a Time in America, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Agreed on the Conan soundtrack, I was just listening to that today.
Might I also add Dragonheart. Meh movie, but the score is awesome.

I cried the second time I watched Dragonheart.
I'm not even kidding.
I may have mentioned this already because I got a wild déjà vu just now.

Re: Best movie sountrack?
The movie is allright. But when I saw it I was a teenage so it may have more of a nostalgia value than anything else. Never the less, The theme song is fantastic yeah.
To anyone who saw «Hard Candy». I tought the score was incredible. I wish I could find mp3s of it but it never was released on cd so...

Hard Candy? I think I remember it as being a porn movie. PrOn movies soundtracks are too often overlooked. They must be closely related to the events taking place.

It's not porn it's David Slade's first full length film ( 30 Days of Nights director) with Ellen Paige (Kitty Pryde in X-Men The Last Stand). It's about a guy who is 31 who meets a 14 years old girl on the net and they meet in a café. The guy then brings back home the teenage girl and finds out he is the pray.

Then I must recommend Spank My Buttoxxx #57 to you. A must see/hear.
More seriously, that movie sounds good, I'll probably rent it, but I don't know that director. Isn't the title 30 days AND night though? Sounds more familiar.
Make yourself a favor and watch the Big Blue. You will realize that the soundtrack is so closely integrated to the movie that it is a work worthy of Morricone himself. I find that the soundtrack actually make the movie better, not only a complement of it. However Eric Serra (the composer) only performed well for that particular movie, all his other works are nothing incredible.
And that will be the last time I advertise that movie to you Spartans.
