If you're smart you'll back-up your shit before installing a new operating system no matter what.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.
Still doesn't change that the only real usable versions of 7 will costs 300-315 euroes (Professional and Ultimate). Home Premium costs 120 euros, but that version is utter bullshit.
Think I'll stay with Vista until the ultimate edition drops down to a reasonable 120 euros - the same I payed for my Vista OEM version. There don't even seem to be OEM versions available of 7, at least not at the time.

Just built a new PC and figured I'd try out Windows 7, had xp on my old machine. I installed the 64 bit Ultimate version and I love it, everything works flawlessly, havent had any driver or software issues, even 32 bit.

I'm downloading a legit version of Windows 7 pro for free. Being in school definitely has its perks.

Ok, I have to post this because it is the single most awkward and ridiculous video from Microsoft (or any company for that matter) I have ever seen. Prepare your senses to witness the video on how to host a Windows 7 launch party:

And here's a very funny spoof of that same video:

Yeah, that ad is aweful. Dunno what's wrong with Microsofts PR department at the time. Some weeks ago there was (at least in europe) a short public outcry over microsoft seemingly being racist when changing a black dude to a caucasian one on a polish ad:

international version

polish version

This has got to be the worst photoshoop I've seen in years. The skintone on the hand is still much darker than the face, the neck looks completely wrong, the building at the back of his head is all blurry, the head is too big, the neck too short and the angle all wrong. WTF microsoft?!

I'm currently using Vista, so I'm looking forward to the upgrade. Vista isn't bad, but it uses a lot of my computers resources, or so I'm told, and so it seems. Friend of mine said if I get 7, my compy will fly. I have a quad core, but my computer still isn't that amazing. It's way better than my old compy at least.

A girl starved for attention? No way!

stupid non-english speaking person, i said inflection ie: 1. (grammar) a change in the form of a word that reflects a change in grammatical function.
2. a change in pitch or tone of voice.

althought i'm sure you're just fucking with me, i still have to overdo it to make my point. in the immortal words of the mythbusters: if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing.

Stupid english speaking person, I said infection, i.e.: 1. (whatever) a bad pun
2. (something else) a play on words
3. (dunno) something to test if people have humor

Also, the immortal words of the mythbusters are clearly: "I reject your reality and substitute my own!" :P

So Windows 7 just won a lot of points in my book.

I got a refurbished computer from Acer and its motherboard fried, but it was within the 90 day warranty period, so I thought it would be no trouble to get the comp fixed. Acer did not honor the warranty and it would have been expensive to replace the motherboard, so I decided to cannabalize the hard drive into my older computer. The computer is pretty decent but not as powerful as the Acer was. After putting in the new HD, the computer works like an effing dream and all of the drivers were automatically updated through the internet!
