Ninel Conde is a goddess. She can have my babies. Haha Degrassi, Rebele is much worst I mean it has dance and songs.

I think we are all a bit of a fantasy fan if we come here. :P

My contemporary authors of choice are Margret Weis, Tracy Hickman, Raymond E. Feist, C.S. Friedman, Rose Estes, and Gary Gygax which make up the majority of my fantasy library.

Gary Gygax is the creator of Dungeons and Dragons

Rose Estes picks up where Gary left off a lot of times, also a good writer.

Marget Weis and Tracy Hickman write in tandum: Dragonlance, some of the best books I've ever read. Dragonlance: Chronicles (3 books) and Legends (3 books).

If you haven't read any of the dragonlance books then go now and pick them up, they are truly excellent. Soon to be made into movies.

* Dragons of Autumn Twilight (April 1984), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-88038-173-6)
* Dragons of Winter Night (April 1985), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-394-73975-2)
* Dragons of Spring Dawning (September 1985), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-88038-175-2)

* Time of the Twins (February 1986), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-1804-7)
* War of the Twins (May 1986), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-1805-5)
* Test of the Twins (August 1986), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-1806-3)

* The Second Generation (February 1995), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-2694-5)
* Dragons of Summer Flame (November 1996), Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-2708-9)

* Dragons of a Fallen Sun (April 2000), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-1807-1)
* Dragons of a Lost Star (April 2001), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-2706-2)
* Dragons of a Vanished Moon (January 2002), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-2950-2)

* Dragons of the Dwarven Depths (July 2006), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 0-7869-4099-9)
* Dragons of the Highlord Skies (July 2007), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, (ISBN 978-0-7869-4333-3)
* Dragons of the Hourglass Mage (forthcoming July 2008), by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman

I can't wait for the last 3 books, i haven't read them yet but I want to. BTW: The books aren't all about dragons, perhaps maybe 5% deals with dragons. :P They are just very rare creatures worthy of awe in their majesty and in sheer terror.

Yupp I love Fantasy :D

My favorite writer is Robin Hobb.
Everything shes written is almost pure gold for the mind :)
I also like Terry Goodkind, long series of books but I still enjoy reading them.
I have read 5-6 books from David Gemmel, but The writing is too simple, almost like reading David Eddings books (I liked Eddings when I was around 14-16 but that was then) once again.
I would like to get my hands on the books some russian guy has written (ough, brainfreeze), they are about some dark elf and his travels. Seems like fun :)
Have you read all of David Gemmels books? Is everyone written in such a "simple" way??

I have read the first of the dragon lance books, but Ive been too lazy to get the next one after the first, when I bought the first part the bookstore had all the books in the series, but when I went back after reading the first one they didnt have the following books :(
And like I said, Ive been to lazy to order them from the internet. Might do so now, hmm :D

I think some of the best writing I've seen has been in Fallen Sun, Lost Star, Vanished Moon . It is simply intense, what happens when a Goddess wants to lord over a world meant to be shared by all the gods? She hides from them, becoming the one true God and it's implication on the rest of the world. Because of this, magic has failed and an inquisition spreads across the lands. Rag-tag (aren't they always? :) ) team tries to figure out where the Gods went, if they where abandoned, and why the hell they can't use magic or call on the Gods to heal. hehe.

It is recommend that you read the first books because the characters in this are their children, so there is a bit of an emotional impact as the events unfold.

There is nothing simple DG's books. Its Heroic Fantasy. You shouldnt expect of him Hobb,Goodkind huge epic series. He is not in that genre. If you want that read Steven Erikson.

Try Gemmell's Rigante books. They are alittle mor epic like. Jon Shannow series is western/apocalyptic fantasy. Jon Shannow is a very interesting hero. If those two series dont make you like Gemmell then he is not for you.

I´m gonna give Gemmel one more try then, Ive just read the first 5 from "Legends of Drenai" and it has many heroes in it :)
I´ve thought about getting the first books from Steven Erikson, but havent heard if the series is good or not so stayed away from it.

Heh he is like most famous of the new epic fantasy writers. Its hard missing him if you go to a Fantasy forum or know other fantasy readers.

What did you think of Legend then? Druss and co are very good story. You really felt for the poor Drenai soldiers dying against the huge Nadir army.

Well, if anyone likes modern fantasy, I'm in the middle of Book 4 of the Dresden Files. Yes, it's a Sci-Fi channel series, but it was a book first.

Book 1, Storm Front, follows Harry Dresen, Professional Wizard (he's in the book!), as he's brought into a murder case by his friend Karrin Murphy of the Chicago PD's Special Investigations unit. Two people dead, hearts removed from the inside. It smells like black magic and Harry has to find out who's doing before he becomes another victim.

Book 2, Fool Moon, gives us another look into the darker side of things. Bodies have been showing up over the last few months, torn to shreds. The latest victim is no different, but is surrounded by large canine footprints. During a full moon. Do you really need it spelled out for you?

Book 3, Grave Peril, finds Harry trying to find out just what is driving the local ghosts mad. Tormented spirits, bound in barbed wire torture spells, have been causing a lot of trouble. Harry has to work out just who and why because the veil between this world and the next is getting weaker and weaker. Plus, his faerie godmother is back to get back what she bargained with him so long ago.

Book 4, Summer Knight, drops us in the middle of a war. Because of the events in the last book, the vampire Red Court is at war with the wizards' White Council. Because it's kinda, sorta, okay completely Harry's fault, the Council is torn on how to deal with it. When a noted wizard and vampire hunter turns up dead because somebody gave inside info to the nightstalkers, Harry is the logical suspect. With the Queen of the faerie Winter Court breathing down his neck to prove her innocence in the murder of the Knight of the Summer Court (whether she is or not), Harry's verdict is becomes tied to the case's outcome.

Overall, not bad. I really like the writing. Harry Dresden is not your typical wizard and casts the spells he needs when he needs them. I give it thumbs up.

I have been trying to get Dresden books simply cause the series reminds me of my fav comic character John Constantine.

The author must have read the comic. He lies otherwise.
