Request

Post by Aluja »

Ok guys, I need help with a few suggestions, recommendations, ideas and reference!

I'm applying to a new Art College this summer and want to update my portofolio.

I want to make a huge highlight for my portofolio with Berserk(prefered Gutts)
I'm planning on spending 30-40 hours into this piece, so I need a lot of reference, I'd like to make a big collab of ideas and then smash it into one.

Right now what I have in mind is: Gutts standing full screen(standing) holding the Dragon Slayer towards the screen so it makes it looks huge right infront of the camera, he's all bloody looks very delusional, slightly smiling. His artifical arm broken, in the eclipse with skulls everywhere and the dark corners will have bright red Apostle eyes.

Thank you for your time!

That scene from the manga has always struck a cord in me.
It's the one from the Rebirth arc, when the mock eclipse takes place. The chapter's name is "Shadows of an Idea", very Plato-nesque.
What I like about the image is that you can add pretty much whatever you want on the sides, and since the basic outline is pretty simple, there's a world of reddish psychedelia to add to it.
One original thought is worth a thousand mindless quotings.

Oh I know that one, I love it, but I'm really aiming it to be standing out.

Background is definitely an option!

If you're looking for a challenge I'd go for this one (although it's not Guts):

The way the sword is aimed towards the viewer, that's what I wanna do!

I was thinking of making the Dragon Slayer in 3D.
