Board Guidelines and Rules (Must read before posting!)

Forum Guidelines & Enforcement
---------------------------------------------------------------------

This forum is here for you all, thus everything covered here can change if felt appropriate by the forum users. However, psi29a & killfile have the final word in all circumstances. These are more like guidelines and not hard-line rules, we dont want to baby sit the forums, but if we feel that the spirit of the guidelines are being usurped then actions will be taken. It is always better to ask if something is appropriate than to go ahead and do it. The moderators and management are human, we understand, just ask us.

Caveats:
Moderators & Admins have the final say on all issues, as we can't plan for every issue, nor please everyone.
Don't ever talk back, be belligerent, or sass a Moderator or Admin, as you will lose. You will be warned and hopefully the issue can be resolved before it escalates. When someone asks you to stop, you stop.

Guide for all users:
a) Spamming: We are good natured, and enjoy the one liners. However, most members will find spam annoying and you will be asked to stop.

b) Topic/Thread Creation: Once you have a few posts under your belt, then you are granted the privilege of creating new threads. As with the spamming thread above, this is to prevent the ever annoying thread creation to ask over-asked questions. Spamming just to create a topic will get your flamed by the locals.

Consult the forums FAQs whenever you have a question, be sure to visit Google, and then do a search in the forums. If your question still isn't answered to your satisfaction, post a new question thread. Expect a small delay of a day or two before anyone can properly respond to your questions.

c) Necroing: Unless you have something that contributes to the topic then feel free to add to the conversation. If you just plan on spamming then let the topic die a natural death. Don't make us lock it because you couldn't control yourself.

d) Warez & Porn: There will no discussion, links to, or any information exchange of software you do not have the license for. (read: no warez) Hard-core porn is forbidden, try to self-censor and use good judgment when you post anything having to do with the human body. Last thing we want want as a community is some blow-hard knocking at our doors.

e) Signatures and Avatars: Signatures shouldn't contain animated images over 512KB in size. Keep the signature equal to or below 600 pixels in width and 160 pixels in height. Your avatar should be no bigger than 300 pixels in height and 150 pixels in width, non-animated. Keep them free of hardcore porn, if you have doubts, talk to a moderator.

f) General Abuse/Hate: If you must, use your choice words sparingly. You will be treated in the same manner you treat others.

g) Double Posting: These are mistakes, typically it is the same or similar post by you twice (or more) in a row. In most of the forum you have the ability to delete your post(s), please do so when you have double posted. It is also generally good manners to edit your last post (if you where the last to add to the thread) with any additional information rather than making another post.

Note: If you want to revive (Necro) a thread and you have the last post you can copy your post and delete it. Create a new post (reply) and post your original and/or new content inside. This makes the thread appear fresh to the forum so people will see it.

Guide for moderators:
a) Editing Posts: If you have to clean up or otherwise edit a post, note that you have done so and leave your signature. Take responsibility for your work.

b) Thread Deletion: We do not delete anything, it is to be removed to the Fuck-It bucket. If you clean up a thread, split the posts you want to remove and split the thread, then move newly created thread into the bucket.

c) Thread Locking: try to avoid this, but if the thread has run its course and members keep trying to post to it, instead of splitting and moving to the bucket, lock the thread.

Remember, this is a community. However, it is a community payed for by psi29a with generous donations of a few helpful old timers. If you don't like the way things are run, you are no way required to stay.

psi29a, killfile, the forum and everyone in the forum are not responsible for anything you find in the forum that you act upon and cause harm to yourself either financially, physically, nor mentally. The forum and it's member are not liable for your actions.
