Re: Currently Watching?
I'm usually not that much into the whole mecha genre, but reading what Starnum wrote about Blue Gender, and reading somewhere else that it's basically Starship Troopers the book the anime (though they obviously didn't get the rights for it), made me want to try it. Watched the first 6 episodes yeste...

Re: Evil-Genius's Berserk Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I smell some hypocracy here from some people. Everyone on these boards is technically a pirate because we read Berserk before it is officially translated. Yeah, it's a greyish zone, but it still is technically verboten. I have all the Berserk volumes that are out in germany, and I buy new ones as so...

I forgot to add my obligatory "Thanks EG, you rock!" quote in the previous post (posted rather hasty at work) so here it is :D Just finished reading the chapter. It was rather cool and awe-inspiring. [spoiler]Fantasia looks really awesome. Like a mix of greek, roman, mayan and babylonian a...

Yeah, that ad is aweful. Dunno what's wrong with Microsofts PR department at the time. Some weeks ago there was (at least in europe) a short public outcry over microsoft seemingly being racist when changing a black dude to a caucasian one on a polish ad: international version http://cache0.techcrunc...

Re: Find the Berserk connections (Symbolism thread)
There was a Norse god that was missing his left hand... but I forget which one. I'd have to dive into lore to find out which one it was. That would probably be Tyr, the Norse god of war (the Norse had so many different gods of war it isn't funny) and justice. As I recall Tyr's hand was bitten off b...

I stopped playing yesterday at almost 12pm (is that 12pm? or 0am? 24:00, that's the time :D) after wiping a few times on Poison Ivy. The bossfights so far were all completely awesome. [spoiler]Getting chased by Killer Croc in the sewers really had my heart pumping. And every single scene where Scare...

Re: Find the Berserk connections (Symbolism thread)
I too think that the right eye and left arm are both just coincidence, or rather design choices. Could probably have been the left eye and right arm too. I'd say the left arm was chosen because the right hand is usually used to grip a sword, while the left holds a shield, blocks, tightens the sword ...

I downloaded Arkham Asylum on steam on the weekend, and I really really like it. I rented it for a night once for PS3 and wasn't much convinced of the combat system, but after playing a full day on the PC it really gripped me. It's simple but challenging at the same time, and doesn't need lots of bu...

Re: PS3 Thread
I must admit, I enjoyed the first Uncharted game, and am looking forward to the sequel. Seriously though, who uses a 20 scale for ratings? Do you really need that many different ratings? Isn't 1-10 enough? Is there something I don't know here. 1 - 20, what do the rankings even mean at that point? 1...

Re: Berserk OVA Rumor
Guts has never given a shit about redemption, his great motivator is revenge. It's why I liked the Black Swordsman concept so much, he had one path, which was his own, and anyone that got in his way would forfeit their lives. With the addition of all of these new cast members, it lightened his stor...

A french video game magazine just gave Uncharted 2 a rating of 21/20. Perfection just got more perfect. I'm pretty exited over that game though. Who isn't? The first Uncharted was pretty much exactly what "Indiana Jones and the Skullfuckery of George Lucas on crystallized meth" shou...

Why? I like the normal PS3's heat detection pads more, myself. I've never had any trouble with them, and they're all high-tech and stuff, heh. :P Indeed. Heat sensitive buttons are like: "See, there is no button but when I lay my finger on it it does its magic!" The new version is like &q...

Re: Berserk OVA Rumor
He DOES have the full leg armor in the pic though, the metal kneeguard can clearly be seen on his left leg in the picture. And IMHO the picture is too bad quality and the angle is bad too, so it could be either a metal left arm, or his flesh one gripping the sword. And its not like Guts didn't have ...

I picked it up last week. It's really fun (though normal mobs are kinda challenging because there are so freaking many of them), and especially swinging around like spidey is the best thing ever in an mmo. The character editor and graphics are really awesome. And I like how you can build your charac...

This is rather old, but awesome nontheless. In 2007 Great Britain had a design competition for a new union jack flag. They didn't change it though but they at least thought and talked about updating it to reflect the current times. The winning flag of the competition? [spoiler] http://i.telegraph.co...

Re: Currently Watching?
Actually, besides the total loss of subtlety in the delivery of plot-relevant information, what bothered me about the recounting of the events covered in the original series was the premature demise of Greed. I liked Greed. I could relate to him. He found himself practically immortal, possessing in...

Combat is weak? That's the greatest thing in the game, what are you talking about? You just haven't gotten the hang of it. I agree though, Batman: AA is awesome. Press Square to do every combo, press Triangle to counter? What's great about that. That's exactly what made combat in Assassins Creed bo...
