Re: Can I tell you... freespeech, propaganda, or anti-religion?
Ah, but don't you see, we don't HAVE to be friends with Hamas. We don't have to be friends with Ahmadinejad. Obviously the west likes cooperating with people who are culturally close to them. Why is that wrong? If palestine cannot survive without EU money, well, they should be prepared to accept som...

Re: Can I tell you... freespeech, propaganda, or anti-religion?
Buz, decency is one thing. Calling for the death of someone who ridicules another, or even a group of people, is entirely another thing. YES it would be nice if everyone were nice and decent. However, it's not the case on either side. For quite some time muslims have been given every kind of silk-gl...

Re: Can I tell you... freespeech, propaganda, or anti-religion?
It may be forbidden to Muslims to depict their prophet. It's not to anyone who is not a muslim. Any non-muslim can make sketches of anyone, and if that person is a subject of public interest, even quite derogatory depictions are covered by the freedom of press and speech. If muslims don't like that,...

Re: New Guyver series!?
I missed this when it was new, and I just found it on Stage 6. So I'm going to have to necro the thread :). It's really not bad as a pseudo-mecha show, IMHO. Of course, it's a stupid classical teen show, but the designs of the guyver's is really nice, and for once, I actually like the op and ed songs.

Re: Berserk Cosplay
I vote that Gabriel gets Fuji a steel armour for her Caska cosplay, and a steel sword as well. That's really the only letdown of the Caska costume, although even the fake armour doesn't look bad. Fuji still has the obvious hot chick advantage, so I think if the three of you ever stand somewhere toge...

Re: Berserk Cosplay
Even though it may not look that good on the screen, show fighting has to be a bit slower than even necessary for the choreography, or else people won't be able to follow. There are also some problems with that setup. You have Griffith dodging a lot, which isn't that easy in that armour. The DS is o...

Re: Currently Watching?
I just watched Heroic age 1-26 this week, this series was great it was recommended by a friend of mines and I wasn't disappointed. For a high sci-fi series it was pretty good, yes. I didn't like that it got all emotional now and then. Especially because I totally couldn't resist it, which means I w...

Re: Berserk Cosplay
I found a link where you can see a sax blade of folded steel, which was taken to Japan to be polished and examined by a master sword polisher. The blade is even older than I said earlier, it's actually a germanic blade from the 5th to 8th century. And considering it's been lying in the ground for so...

Re: Berserk Cosplay
Gut's sword is probably made from two pieces of steel. The handle is made from a dowel bar of steel that would be really really strong, while the blade is melted and molded onto it. European swords were always molded, not folded. Also, Gut's sword shouldn't be sharp, it should have nicks in it, or ...

Re: Eden - It's an Endless World
Hmm, I never got into it, somehow. I read the first few volumes, but it didn't touch me at all. The trouble is, if I'm expecting all the main characters to either disappear or die sometime soon, I just don't empathise with them at all. Maybe that impression was wrong, but at some point I just stoppe...

Re: Devil May Cry
What people bitch about is that DMC had neither plot nor good fights. If there had been good fights, noone would have complained about the lack of plot. But as it is, there was a terribly lacklustre story with no development, and then there were fights that consisted of Dante shooting something off ...

Re: Currently Watching?
A lot of animes has come to an end now during the fall :P Kaze No stigma, Claymore. Sonn to be over is Darker than black, Heroic Age, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann :( Dont know if Major is coming to an end also (for this season that is), hopefully not :) So the question remains, what series I should l...
Re: KARAS
I feel like a necrophiliac, but a fourth ep of this show actually came out. Now the show is beginning to make a bit of sense. I still think they messed up in their opening fight scene in ep 1, or that was supposed to be the future, I don't get it. Damn time jumps. P.S.: Kraze did ep four, it's good ...

Re: Berserk chapter: 290
Great chapter, thanks EG and Miura-san. I found the bit with Guts' beast more interesting than the insane ramblings of a disempowered noble. Well. What is disturbing here is that his beast is acting like a seperate entity. I used to think it was just his own rage, materialized, but still his own. No...

Re: Claymore
Well it's the basic question of whether you're allowed to kill off insane people who commit crimes. Is it the person commiting the crime or his insanity? Priscilla is definitely comepletely out of her mind. She was when she killed Teresa, and she still is. So from a moral perspective it actually IS ...
Re: Claymore
I don't mind if they turned it into some shonen showdown, because it's a shonen manga. It's got all the characteristics of a shonen manga, there's the fights, the power-ups in regular succession, then more fights. It's just better than the usual shonen manga, and I can't wait for the next chapter. O...
Re: Claymore
I'm going to have to say this: The fight was definitely awesome. The end with Jeane was not badly done. Everything else was so-so. Raki is still the same annoying drama queen. Now the question is this: Will the anime writers make a second season on top of their messed plot? I can't imagine ...

Re: "The White Tree - Racial Injustice in Jena, Louisiana USA"
Somehow I think some people have a slightly too simple view of this incident. Those six black youths are apparently guilty of beating up a guy, six vs. one and severly injuring him. That's a crime in my book. They were treated unjustly in court, and that's a terrible thing. But when people are rally...
Re: Claymore
I don't think a lot of people will die. Even Jean is still alive. Priscilla didn't manage to kill any of the other claymores - yet, I should say, but it looks like they will just run off now.
