Why are people saying that Guts won't show up again 'til next year? That's more than 10 months without the main character... unlikely to say the least. I think the story will focus on Griffith for a while, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Guts won't be featured in the odd chapter now and then....

A lot... I don't think he's ever given a definite number. Miura did say in an interview that he was inspired by Guin Saga, and that manga has released 100+ volumes. That's the only interview I know of.

Well, for almost two volumes now (maybe more) it's been non-stop action, so the characters haven't really had a chance to properly interact. I also heard that in this YA, Miura said that all he did during those 4 months was draw soldiers, so this particular battle could be a long one.

That chapter was tremendous. I love the shapeshift of the Hawks, as Starlore pointed out. I'm also liking Grunbeld's new armor.
