Evan Almighty: I don't generally go for this sort of thing, but I didn't leave vomiting from the cutsey happy and the kids enjoyed it. Transformers: Umm... product placement debates? Did someone miss the point? Transformers are one of the original cartoon/product tie-in lines... what did you expect?...

Re: Profile side, left or right?
While I found Femto's arguement interesting, especially citing ART, these concepts must have been lost on hundreds of thousands of advertisers and their agencies since the advent of print ads and their webpages. People, though they read left to right, tend to pause on the right and capture the infor...

Re: New Yorkers Are Stupid
Unfortunately the news in more and more countries is owned by the same few corporate entities that own the media here in the US. those few corporations are interested in profit, not news. If they can fill a time slot with canned "news" releases from some other powerful corporate entity, av...

Re: New Yorkers Are Stupid
It's Bush's fault. He's cited it so often that his lack of credibility has rubbed off on it, and the details have become vague in the consciousness of the people. Having him at the helm is just making us stupider and stupider (that means less smart).

Re: What the World Eats
It is entirely possible to purchase healthy foods while living on food stamps. You just have to be diligent in your trip to the store, read labels and make hard choices for yourself and your children. If you like ice cream and know you eat too much of it, buy smaller containers or buy it less often....

I have to say, if I count in all the pizzas and take out my expenses for feeding the fam goes up a bit. Generally I spend around $95 a week at the grocery to feed me and 2 kids... then add an average of $35 a week for sushi and pizza. The monthly comes to $540 and I have one kid going through a grow...

Some exhibits show dinosaurs aboard Noah's ark and assert that all animals were vegetarians until Adam committed the first sin in the garden of Eden. Call me kooky, but I thought that 1. Eve commited the first sin according to the Bible and 2. Noah appeared long after Adam was dead... so that would...

Re: Revolution, flashmobs, and brain chips. A grim future....
The only problem I see with all those scenerios is that one does not take into account another. If the global warming thing happens and the seas rise(and become less salty)... where will all those Arabs and Africans live? And what will they eat? They can't all hide in the mountains with bin Laden.

Don't worry. Once the sea level rises from the melt off of the polar ice caps, their coast line will return to normal.

Why would Peter have been able to fly away on his own? Did I miss something or are other characters capable of using more than one power at a time? I would think if you were going nuclear, you might find it hard to fly. And Nathan needed a redemption moment. It seems to me that Claire's grandmother ...

Why not, we imbue corporations with the rights and privileges of the individual and most of the time they can't even laugh when tickled.

I have long been a facile user of the English language in various applications. I have written for a newspaper and have a long history of editting college papers, as Psi can attest. In my own experience, I have seen a loss of understanding and use of the English language in the written form. Student...

I'll say another thing, though: In the documentary, there was an African guy quoted that it's the African dream to develop. And I call bullshit on that. There were millions pumped into Africa which immediately landed in the hands of some petty dictator or warlord, and each time one of those was dis...

guywildman... I am not really sure what your point was. yes, but this has nothing to do with our 'commander and chief'. As to that, unfortunately, it will. There is the matter of a certain pipeline that may become vulnerable if non-secular elements threaten stability and also if violence erupts as a counter to that effort. I know we haven't got the reso...
