I don't know, it's the paperback version, so the preface is different at least.

Re: Can I tell you how stupid… (about Abortion)
With the Danish cartoonists, I wasn't so much shocked that they drew Mohammad, but more that they associated terrorism to an entire religion. I wouldn't have felt that passionate against a depiction of the prophet, because I'm an atheist and simply don't know or care too much about this matter. The...

Re: Movies of '08
I saw the trailer for the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and I seriously cannot draw any sort of anticipation or motivation to go and watch it. Haha, when I saw it, my first thought was that they were advertising a video game. WoW gameplay almost have better animation! It looks like crap, mayb...

It's too early to say though, he might be able to own some basic bad guy but that is all. You should do what I do now: wait for a serie to be over to actually buy the book, because nothing replace a good ol' HQ paper copy. I've been saved from Bleach this way, and other wrecks (I decided to go this ...

I wouldn't take this too lightly if I was you. I wouldn't be surpised if this involve some subtile law (I don't think they call it a "waiver" randomly, what is it exactly that you "waive"?), allowing the US to detain you if you fill up that thing and they find out you belong to ...

Actually, he's not that low. He got his family murdered in front of him, it's normal for him to have a grudge against the perpetrator, even if it is brother. In a way, it was admirable how unrelenting he was to reach his goal no matter the consequences, not a bad anti-hero. That was never my problem...
Re: ::GANTZ::
I think people keep reading Gantz in hope for story progression and boobs/rape (probably more for the second). But they've got to realize that the mangaka has no idea was the hell is going on. It's been pretty clear to me for a while now. The only reason for the manga to be that popular is its promi...

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=11058 No idea how old this serie is, picked up by Snoopy Cool. I ran into it out of boredom, I checked it out only because SC used to scanlate HNI. All manga snobs out there don't check it out. This is a ecchi/fight serie, much like our own BReaction! (exce...

Re: ::Hajime no ippo::
Takamura started lower because that was the only way for him to find opponents in Japan in order to get started. In general (I'm no expert mind you), it seems to me like boxer pick the lowest category possible based on their build in order to get a strength/reach advantage.

Re: ::One Piece::
It's looks like your typical "split and rejoice" OP action, but you can't really get bored of it. In 60 vol of OP I don't think there was a single tournament of sort. Last one was the davvy fight, but it wasn't your tournament bracket type. So again something refreshing is going on in OP. ...

I am so looking forward to this arc, has a smell of the Skypea arc, and we should learn a lot about the history of the world of OP (and probably about the family of "D"). I say the "D" is one of the 20 kings who went rogue or somethin'.

Well it depend how you look at the thread title. I take it as "movies I watched in 2008", not "movies that came out in 2008". I have no idea when it came out in the US, might have been years, but I only saw it recently on blockbuster's shelves. I will look for this Tokikake movie...

Re: Movies of '08
Paprika. Great animation, cute story but as usual the second part of the movie is full of metaphysico-phylosophico-BS that doesn't make much sense, unless you are ready to stretch logic - a lot. I find it annoying that japanese animated movies tend to start with great premisces but don't make much s...

The prequel is actually called NiEwB, and is a hit around here.
You should get it first, it explains a lot.

Tite has already made a fool of himself. Good job at destroying characters that we actually cared for. These captains are just here for show (read:fan service), no depth at all has been added to them. In fact they even look more shallow than before, like any one-dimensional moron. They are dumber th...

Actually it did evolved into a big sword, same as Earl's.
D-Gray Man has very little in common with FMA, especially not the art.
