I’ll avoid putting some jokes in the empty speech bubbles, in case people think that it’s actually part of the plot. It happened last time…so, maybe in the future I’ll consider it.
Also, more Zetman, more Angel Heart, and possibly…more Biomega!

edit2: this delay is brought to you by the fucking plague! Help us wish Mystic in a full recovery. He already feels bad for the delay, but this is his baby and we at EG respect that and are all waiting with baited breath (as we are aware you all are too). Rest assured we are not dead and Berserk will go out. 
Also, there are those that wish to post other’s releases here. That’s all well and good, but I’m sure most here are clever enough to find it themselves.
We’ve always had the policy that no links be posted to either raws or releases. No exceptions.
Now if you are the member of the other groups translating Berserk, why not offer to help us here.
Many heads are better than one. Our translators are easy to work with and offer mentorship as are our editors. So, by all means… send us a message, join the forums, and lets go.

So yeah, I kept my promise of having at least 5 releases. We could have more, but I got lazy. We’ll have them ready for the next release batch. Hope you enjoy them. Still, no Berserk, so don’t ask. I heard from a little elf that, for the next chapter to appear, each person must buy a 100 copies of the volumes. So, uh, get cracking. It’s all up to you now.
EDIT: Because some people didn’t get it, my remark about people buying 100 copies of the volumes…was a joke. As in, an amusing and supposed witty device to provoke laughter. It doesn’t seem it was that funny to some people, who took it seriously and thought it was Miura’s word. Heh, no, that was all me. I thought a demand of this ludicrous nature was obviously a joke and people would get it. What Miura really wants is to you to save the Nigerian princess by giving all your bank account details so she could transfer billions of dollars into your account and run away together so no one would know of your secret love. Now, if you don’t get if that is a joke or not, I give up (and just in case everyone is that dense, no, Miura did not say anything of that sort, and no, don’t give your bank account details to this ‘Nigerian princess’. I’ll spell out what is a joke next time).

Status updates for the New Year

I hope you’re all enjoying the new year. Now, there’s a few reasons why we haven’t updated in a while, one being that we’re busy. Second, we have our own lives to run, and can’t be on the Internet all the time. I just want to extend my thank you for the people who continue to support us, despite no releases in the last month. That’s not to say that there hasn’t been activity lately. In fact, by next weekend there will be at least 5 releases of Zetman, Angel Heart and BReaction! We are also starting several new projects which are short manga stories. We are not accepting any project proposals from you guys though, but if we do we will ask the community for help (if it comes to it, please don’t say Gantz or One Piece, the last time the majority suggested it I bashed my head on the keyboard). There will be some guidelines posted if we do choose to ask for suggestions.
It doesn’t seem there has been any dates set for the next Berserk chapter. So please, don’t ask. You’ll get a polite ‘piss off’, or a rude ‘go away’ depending on our moods. Also, if you think that the writer’s strike is affecting Miura’s ability to make a chapter, then you have to stop dreaming (yes, I have been asked that question). First of all, Japan is not in America. According to an atlas, there are countries outside of America. Secondly, I really don’t think that the strike extends and affects globally that writers outside of America are on strike because they want the the peanut sized internet residuals. Although I haven’t seen any TV shows come out from Estonia lately…
Originally I had an omake parody of how the Berserk lateness is affecting the groups of the community and wanted to post that. Things always sound better in your head, but fail in execution. But it turns out it was incredibly horrid, so if I get around to make it better, then I’ll post it next weekend with the releases. Then you can laugh at my ‘comedic genius’ or laugh with it.

From everyone at Evil_Genius, happy holidays everyone and may you have a great new years. 2008 is almost here and it has been a great 4 years since Oro first founded EG. We started out as part of DigitalPanic, a swell group of people in their own right that helped incubate us in our Gantz and Berserk speed scanlation days.
We did eventually outgrow (and piss off a few people) Oro decided to strike out on his own and with a bit of help from Mindwerks we are now self-hosted and have developed slowly over time into what you see today. While Oro has moved on to bigger and better thing, he is still the founder who guided us into what you see today. So, many thanks to Oro for pioneering the way and I hope that we at EG have kept your flame alive and made you proud.
Now, time for the torrents!

So many of you perhaps are waiting for the next Berserk chapter, while others are anxious for another bit of Biomega, Angel Heart, Zetman and B Reaction… here is the run down what is going on.
Angel Heart: We have lots more in the pipeline that just need to be QCed before we can push them out the door.
Berserk: Waiting of course… always waiting… for more… *sigh*
Biomega: We had made significant progress, but Nomimono’s laptop burst into flames and fell into a swamp. Well, not really but the laptop is toast and so are the translations. Good news is through this pain, he is a real trooper and re-translating. We should have more tastiness for you soon.
B. Reaction!: Progress is steady is on this, we hope to wrap this up too much like NHK. This will make 2nd manga we have finished.
Zetman: Yes, there are chapters floating around out there but they are crap quality. We try to stick with the tanks (Volume) scans as they are really top notch. However, this hasn’t stopped our team from looking at the chapters to do a pre-translation in lieu of the tanks.
???????: Indeed, we have a treat for you all. Something we have found that EG members think will be a fun project.

Obviously some of you are frothing at the mouth for us to finish up Welcome to NHK, all I can say is that the wait is nearly over. We are looking forward to another great release this weekend that covers a lot of non-Berserk related ground. Provided nothing strange happens, we are go!
In the mean time, hbi2k has made some releases that he would like to share with the community:

We are a day late and a dollar short, but we should be back on track now. This release was brought to you by Nominomo and Mystic for the translations and the Herculean effort of LordMune to edit both when real-life got the better of our main Berserk editor. So congratulations are in store for LordMune for not only doing this but also for his Birthday tomorrow! Give him your thanks as he has worked hard to cover a lot of ground.

Last.fm Radio comes to EG, be afraid!

The sonic noise that permeates many of our member’s speakers while reading Berserk, Biomega, and more have now been graphed, analyzed and last.fm has kindly provided us a widget for EG to use.
The widget itself can be manipulated any number of ways, either inline while reading the page, or by popping it up in the background so that you can click links without losing that tune you where jamming out to.
Also, the more members that join the EG group on last.fm, the more music will be added to our radio and more likely will it resemble the music that the majority of EG members listen to. So, if you wish to join in the fun, grab a last.fm account and download a ‘scrobbler‘ for your iTunes, WMP, winamp, xmms, or what have you and help EG make a bitchen radio. Linux, Mac, Windows… we got all your numbers.
Obviously some people prefer Synthpop sound of Wolfsheim and Seabound over that of the Metal sound of Dragonforce or Iced Earth, or vis versa. Who knows, you might find something you like that you have never heard of before.
It is our hope that you all enjoy the radio while reading our releases.
